'White Rabbit' candy, 3 Chinese products laced with formalin

The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) on Tuesday ordered the pullout of four Chinese products from the market after testing positive for formalin.

Deputy Director Joshua Ramos said distributors of the White Rabbit creamy candy, Milk Candy, Bairong grape biscuits and Yong Kang Foods Grape Biscuit had been given 15 to 30 days to pull out their products.

Ramos said BFAD tests discovered that the four products contained formaldehyde or formalin.

He also advised consumers of the products to call BFAD's hotline 842-560! 6 to report if they are feeling sick after eating any of the products.

Ramos clarified that BFAD has no police powers to force the distributors to pull out the products from the market. He said letters will

New invention

Want to show off my hub new invention.

Does your baby always accidently/purposely drop his or her teething biscuits on the floor and you feel that it's such a waste cos now you have to give another piece for your baby and it might be dropped again. Afraid no more. You can now simply solve this problem with a few simple steps below.

1. Tie a cloth clip to a strap. This strap usually come together when you bought your thumbdrive. Or it might be coming together when you bought the camera.

2. You can now clip the teething biscuit to the cloth clip. Oh.. i only show half of the biscuit cos it's crack already. (the other half is in my stomach now.. yummy!!)

3. Just hang the strap on your baby's neck. Now you don't have to worry if your baby drop the biscuit.

Make sure that you stay with you baby all the time when he/she is eating the biscuit to avoid the baby strangle him/herself with the strap. Oh. and also make sure that you wash the cloth clip every time after use for hygiene purposes.

Eh.. you think my hub can get patented with this invention or not?
Whoever want to use this method please pay loyalty fees ar....

Ohhh.. is Roseola...

Xinyi fever subsided on last Friday which makes me and hub really happy. So yesterday night, we hiao hiao go bring her out to a friend's wedding dinner. And guess what we discover when we come back home?

Her whole body is covered with rashes. Scared the hell out of us. I quickly made a recall of what i have feed her for the past few days but all the foods i had been feeding her hundred times and she is not allergic to any of them. Hub fed her Zrytec (antihistamine medication) after she took her milk. This morning, we checked her body again, the rashes is getting worse. So we brought her to see paed. To our surprise, there are so many patients in children's clinic today. Hub even met a few of his school mates and old colleges, whose their kids also sick. But "luckily", a nurse made a mistake and skip off a few patients and called Xinyi name first so we didn't really have to wait for long.
After paed checked on Xinyi, he said that this might be Roseola. It's a viral illness that marked as a few days of high fever then followed by the rashes after the fever subside. Paed also mentioned that the rashes is not itchy which is true cos i didn't see Xinyi scratch any part of her body. No medication needed, the rashes will go away in a few days time.
So finally we know, it's the Roseola....... Phew.. me and hub feel glad that this is not measle.

What you do when your child is sick, having fever?

You let your child drink alot and alot of barley water? You force your child to take panadol every 4 hours? or you just like me , besides doing all the above, you also use the thermometer to measure his/her temperature every half an hour or and basically didn't sleep for the whole night. How to sleep when you have to measure her temperature every half an hour ler?
Yes, Xinyi has been sick for few days. About a week ago, she start to develop some mild fever which still not required any medication (not me say one, paed say no need give panadol yet). Her temperature measured at that time is around 37.3C. The fever doesn't go away after few days , instead develop to high fever at the 5th days onward. I start to give her panadol when her temperature is higher than 38C .However, it cannot bring down the temperature instead it goes sky high to close to 40C at night. I brought her back to see the paed again, and this time, paed prescribe the suppository and antibiotic (3 days course), saying that her throat is a bit reddish. He told us to bring her back to see him if her fever didn't subside after she finish her antibiotic. Paed said no need to worry, as xinyi is still as active as usual.
For the next 2 days, i basically just try to measure her temperature every half an hour. Hub said i'm over reacting. But i'm a first time mum, and my xinyi never get such high fever before. I'm damn worried mar. And i become expert of estimating what is her temperature by just putting my hand on her forehead. It is always close with the reading that i get from the thermometer. The suppository can temporally bring her temperature down, but after a few hours, her temperature will go back high. She also start to looks more tired than usual. She nap longer during day time and didn't climb here and there as she normally did. Hub starts to worry too and ask whether we should go seek second opinion.
Today is her last day of antibiotic course, she still had high fever yesterday night and i still have to use the suppository to bring her temperature down. Even this morning, i still need to feed her panadol as her temperature still close to 39C. If she's not getting any better tonight, i will have to bring her back to see Paed again tomorrow.
Damn. Don' have a good feeling if i have to bring her back. I think her paed might want to admit her into hospital for further checking.
Get well soon little princess. Mama and Papa is damn worry ler....

The missing girl in penang ....

Just read the online newspaper . Can't believe that this thing happened in Penang. A mother will actually tell a lie in front the media to cover up the girl's death, that is caused by her boyfriend.
It's such a sad news. My heart goes to her when i knew her girl is missing, thought that she must be regret for leaving her girl for just a few minutes. Ended up, all this is just a cover up. She already knew she will never see her girl again when she pleaded in front of media for that someone to return her girl. What was her thinking at that moment?
I know i don't have any right to judge her. I'm not in her shoes to understand what she'd been through. I just feel so pity for the little girl. Her death might be an accident, but she was not deserved to be burnt and thrown away like this.
